SDJ-4000: How do I update the firmware?

Keeping your Gemini Sound SDJ-4000 on the latest firmware makes sure it runs the way it should. Here's how to do it with a USB flash drive.

Before you start

  • Download the latest SDJ-4000 firmware update from the Gemini firmware download page.
  • Copy the firmware file (a .gci file) to the root directory of a portable USB flash drive. Put it in the top level of the drive, not inside a folder.

Update the firmware

  1. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB1 port on the SDJ-4000.
  2. Press [SETTINGS] to open the Settings menu. Scroll to the bottom of the list and note the current firmware version.
  3. Select Update Device from the Settings menu, then turn the encoder to select [Yes].
  4. The display will read "Updating Device Firmware. Do not turn off the power." Leave the unit powered on until it finishes.
  5. The SDJ-4000 will reboot on its own.
  6. Press [SETTINGS] again, scroll to the bottom of the list, and confirm the new version is installed.
