Resolving Bluetooth connectivity issues with the WPX-2000

If your WPX-2000 won't stay paired, or won't pair at all, work through the fixes below in order. Most Bluetooth problems clear up in the first two steps.

What you might be seeing

These are the symptoms customers report most often:

  • The WPX-2000 suddenly stops connecting to your phone.
  • Bluetooth drops a few minutes after it connects.
  • The WPX-2000 doesn't show up in your device's Bluetooth list.
  • It connects and disconnects on its own, or won't hold a stable connection.

Why it happens

Bluetooth trouble usually comes down to one of these:

  • Outdated firmware that affects how Bluetooth pairs and holds a connection.
  • Interference from other Bluetooth devices nearby.
  • A software glitch or corrupted Bluetooth settings on your phone or tablet.

Solutions that work

Here are the methods our support team uses to resolve this, starting with the quickest.

Method 1: Reset your Bluetooth

A quick reset clears most minor connection hiccups.

  1. Open your device's settings and tap Bluetooth.
  2. Turn Bluetooth off, wait about 5 seconds, then turn it back on.

Tip: Make sure no other devices are trying to connect to the WPX-2000 while you reset.

Method 2: Reconnect your WPX-2000

Forgetting the device and pairing it fresh often fixes a connection that keeps dropping.

  1. Open Bluetooth settings on your device and find the WPX-2000.
  2. Tap Forget or Unpair to remove it from your known devices.
  3. Refresh the Bluetooth list, then select the WPX-2000 to pair it again.

Tip: Put the WPX-2000 in pairing mode before you reconnect.

Method 3: Full Bluetooth troubleshooting

If the first two methods don't do it, try this more thorough pass.

  1. Disconnect every other Bluetooth device connected to your phone or tablet.
  2. Go to Bluetooth in settings and toggle it off, then on again.
  3. Forget the WPX-2000 from your list of paired devices.
  4. Pair the WPX-2000 again.

Tip: Keep other electronics away from the WPX-2000 during pairing to cut down on interference.

Method 4: Update the firmware

A firmware update can fix connection stability at the source.

  1. Make sure the WPX-2000 is fully charged.
  2. Using a computer, go to the official Gemini Sound support site.
  3. Find and download the latest firmware for the WPX-2000.
  4. Follow the update instructions included with the download.

Tip: Back up your current settings before you update, so nothing is lost.

Prevention

To keep Bluetooth trouble from coming back:

  • Check for and install firmware updates regularly.
  • Reset your Bluetooth now and then to clear out minor glitches before they add up.
