GEMINI SOSP-8 Weatherproof Floating Speaker - General Troubleshooting Guide
The Gemini SOSP-8 SoundSplash is a rugged, floating Bluetooth® speaker built for outdoor environments.
No Sound or Low Volume
Quick Fix:
- Confirm the speaker is powered on using the Power Button.
- Increase volume using the Volume Up (+) button.
- Check your phone or tablet’s volume settings.
- Ensure the speaker is properly paired. The Bluetooth name is “GEMINI SOSP8”.
- Try connecting via the 1/8” AUX input to rule out Bluetooth issues.
Bluetooth Connection Issues
Quick Fix:
- Press the Bluetooth Button to activate pairing mode. The button will flash.
- On your device, select “GEMINI SOSP8” from the Bluetooth list.
- If pairing fails, power cycle the speaker and try again.
- For TWS stereo pairing, connect to Bluetooth first, then press the TWS LINK button on both SOSP-8 units.
LED Lights Not Working
Quick Fix:
- Press the Woofer Light button to cycle through modes: Flash, Party FX, Color Strobe, Color Fade, Off.
- Long press both Volume Down (-) and Volume Up (+) simultaneously to enter Color Select Mode.
- Use the same buttons to choose a color.
- For center strobe light, press the Center Strobe Light button to toggle between On, Strobe, and Off.
- If lights don’t respond, check battery level—low power may disable lighting.
Battery Not Charging or Draining Quickly
Quick Fix:
- Use the included DC Power Adapter and connect to the DC Power Port.
- Inspect the charging port for debris or moisture.
- Allow up to 4 hours for a full charge.
- Disable LED lights and reduce volume to extend battery life.
- Battery specs: 3.6V 2500mAh Lithium Ion, up to 24 hours play time.
Speaker Not Floating or Water Damage Concerns
Quick Fix:
- Ensure the rear plastic port cover is fully sealed before submerging.
- The SOSP-8 is IP67 rated: dustproof and waterproof up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.
- Exposure to saltwater or chlorine may affect the enclosure—rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly.
- Do not charge while wet.
USB Charging Port Not Working
Quick Fix:
- Confirm the speaker is powered on.
- Use a compatible USB cable and connect to the USB Type A port (charging only, no playback).
- Check the rear compartment for moisture or debris.
TWS Pairing Not Working
Quick Fix:
- Power on both SOSP-8 units.
- Connect one unit to your device via Bluetooth.
- Press the TWS LINK button on both speakers to pair them wirelessly.
- Ensure both units are within range and not paired to other devices.
Voice Control Not Responding
Quick Fix:
- Short press the Voice Control button to activate your device’s voice assistant (e.g., Siri).
- Ensure your phone is connected via Bluetooth and microphone permissions are enabled.
- Restart both your phone and the speaker.
Rear Storage Compartment Won’t Close
Quick Fix:
- Check for obstructions or overfilled compartment.
- Align the seal properly before closing.
- The waterproof rating only applies when the compartment is fully sealed.
Factory Reset
Quick Fix:
- Insert a pin into the Reset Button hole in rear compartment to perform a factory reset.
