Active PA Speakers - Rear of unit heating up
If the rear of your Gemini speaker feels hot during use, that’s usually normal and expected. Many Gemini models—including the GSP Series (GSP-2200, GSP-L2200PK, GSP-5500, GSP-L5500PK) and AS Series 12" and 15" speakers—are equipped with built-in heat sinks designed to manage internal heat.
These heat sinks help regulate temperature by dissipating heat from the amplifier and other components. As a result, the rear panel of the speaker may become warm or even quite hot during extended use or high-volume playback.

What’s normal:
- Warm to hot surface at the rear of the speaker
- Heat increasing with longer or louder use
What’s not normal:
- Burning smell or visible smoke
- Speaker shutting down unexpectedly
- Rear panel too hot to touch safely
