SDJ-4000: How do I connect a turntable?

Connecting a turntable to your Gemini Sound SDJ-4000 takes two steps. Pick an open channel, wire it up, and set the input to match your turntable.

  1. Choose one of the open channels on the SDJ-4000.
  2. Plug the turntable's RCA output into that channel's input.
  3. If your turntable needs it, move that channel's Input switch from line to phono.

Whether you need the phono setting depends on your turntable. A turntable with a built-in preamp usually runs on the line setting, while one without a preamp needs phono. If you're not sure, start on line and switch to phono if the sound is too quiet.
