SDJ-4000: How do I update the firmware?
Keeping your Gemini Sound SDJ-4000 on the latest firmware makes sure it runs the way it should. Here's how to do it with a USB flash drive.
Before you start
- Download the latest SDJ-4000 firmware update from the Gemini firmware download page.
- Copy the firmware file (a .gci file) to the root directory of a portable USB flash drive. Put it in the top level of the drive, not inside a folder.
Update the firmware
- Insert the USB flash drive into the USB1 port on the SDJ-4000.
- Press [SETTINGS] to open the Settings menu. Scroll to the bottom of the list and note the current firmware version.
- Select Update Device from the Settings menu, then turn the encoder to select [Yes].
- The display will read "Updating Device Firmware. Do not turn off the power." Leave the unit powered on until it finishes.
- The SDJ-4000 will reboot on its own.
- Press [SETTINGS] again, scroll to the bottom of the list, and confirm the new version is installed.
