What is the difference between TWS and Multi-Link?

TWS and Multi-Link both let you use more than one speaker at once, but they do different jobs. Here is how to tell them apart.

TWS (True Wireless Stereo)

TWS wirelessly connects two speakers and plays them as a stereo pair, giving you a wider soundstage. The audio signals are synced across both speakers, so one handles the left channel and the other handles the right. The two speakers work in unison to produce a balanced stereo image.

Multi-Link

Multi-Link connects multiple speakers to a single source, such as a smartphone or another audio device. Unlike TWS, the speakers do not split the audio into left and right channels or coordinate to create a stereo image. Instead, every speaker plays the same signal, which gives you greater overall volume and wider sound coverage across a space, but not a balanced stereo soundstage.

Which one to use

Use TWS when you want true stereo separation from two speakers in one room. Use Multi-Link when you want to fill a larger area with sound from several speakers fed by one source.
