GMX DRIVE: PC Traktor setup guide

This guide walks you through connecting your Gemini Sound GMX DRIVE to a Windows PC and setting it up in Traktor. Follow the steps in order, and wait for each driver install to finish before moving on.

Connect and power on the unit

  1. Connect the included power adapter and USB cable to the unit.
  2. Plug the unit into a proper power connection.
  3. Plug the USB cable into an available USB port on your computer.
  4. Power on the unit.
  5. Once the unit is powered on, press and hold the MIDI button located directly under the USB input jack on the center mixing console.
  6. When it activates, the MIDI button lights up and your computer starts installing the onboard drivers it needs. Wait until every driver has finished installing before you continue.

Run the Traktor setup wizard

  1. Launch Traktor.
  2. Open the Traktor setup wizard in the bottom left corner of the preferences screen.
  3. Follow Traktor's on-screen instructions by clicking Next. Traktor setup wizard start screen

  5. When asked "Are you using an external mixer?", select No. Traktor external mixer prompt set to No
  6. Select 2 Track Decks as your layout. Traktor layout set to 2 Track Decks

Configure audio and controller settings

  1. Return to the Preferences dialog and go to Audio Setup. Mirror the screenshot below. Traktor Audio Setup preferences
  2. Select Output Routing and mirror the same settings.
  3. Select Controller Manager and import the GMX Traktor mapping, which you can download at the bottom of this article.
  4. Set the In and Out ports to GMX, then set the Device Target to Focus.

You're ready to run Traktor with your Gemini GMX.
