My unit is not reading my files on my flash drive

If your Gemini Sound player will not read the files on your USB flash drive, it usually comes down to the file format or where the files are stored on the drive. Work through these checks.

Check your file format

  • Look up your unit's file reading specifications in its manual. Each model supports a specific set of formats.
  • All Gemini units read the MP3 format. Some can also read WAV, AAC, and AIFF.

CDM-4000 and CDMP-1500

These two models are more restrictive than the rest of the lineup:

  • They read the MP3 format only.
  • The files must be in the root folder of the USB flash drive, not inside a subfolder.

If your tracks are stored in folders on the drive, move them to the top level and confirm they are MP3s. That resolves most read errors on these units.

My speakers sound flat

Flat sound almost always points to an EQ setting. Here's how to check the EQ on your speaker, mixer, and controller, then set a neutral starting point.
