G2V and G4V: no sound

The Gemini Sound G2V and G4V have a few audio output settings that need to be configured correctly before you'll get sound. Work through the checks below, starting with the master outputs.

Master outputs (hardware)

  • Power on the unit.
  • Make sure your master output jacks (RCA or XLR) are the ones you're using.
  • Confirm your speakers and amplifier are powered on.
  • Turn the input level on the speakers or amplifiers all the way down first to protect the speakers.
  • Check that your cables are fully working.
  • Set the crossfader to the middle point.
  • Set the volume fader on the channel you're using to a minimum, then bring it up to your preference.
  • Set the master volume knob to a minimum, then bring it up to your preference.

Headphone output (hardware)

  • Plug your headphones into the headphone output jack on the front of the unit.
  • Set the cue volume knob to a minimum, then adjust it to your preference.
  • Activate the headphone (cue) button on the channel you're monitoring.
  • Turn the cue mix knob fully to the left, to cue.
  • Set the booth knob to 50%.

If you still have no sound, check your software audio output settings using the Virtual DJ or Traktor setup guide.
