DJ controller not recognized by my computer

If your Gemini Sound DJ controller does not show up on your computer, the cause is usually the connection, the drivers, or the software. Work through these steps in order and you will clear most cases.

  • Swap the USB cable. A worn or damaged cable is the most common culprit. Try a different one.
  • Use a powered USB hub. If the controller draws more power than a laptop port can supply, a powered hub gives it a stable connection.
  • Confirm the computer sees the device. Open your MIDI control panel or audio control panel and check whether the controller is listed.
  • Reinstall the DJ software. Uninstall the software that came with your unit, then install it again from scratch. This clears out a corrupted driver or setup.
  • Use the included power adapter. If your unit shipped with a power adapter, always plug it in. Some controllers will not run on USB power alone.
