[CDM-4000 / CDM-4000BT] Using the USB Drives
The CDM-4000BT supports USB playback, allowing DJs and users to easily access and play digital music files directly from a USB flash drive. Follow the steps below to ensure proper setup and playback.
USB Drive Requirements
To ensure compatibility and smooth operation, your USB drive must meet the following criteria:
- File System Formats Supported: FAT, FAT32, and NTFS
- Maximum USB Capacity: 64 GB
💡 Tip: For best performance, use a USB drive with only audio files and avoid unnecessary folders or non-audio content.
Steps to Use a USB Drive with the CDM-4000BT

Power On the Unit
Turn on the CDM-4000BT using the power switch. -
Insert USB Drive
Plug your USB drive into the USB port on the unit. -
Switch to USB Mode
Press the Select button to toggle from CD mode to USB mode. - The display will show “READ” while the unit scans the USB drive.
- Once scanning is complete, the first track will load automatically.

Track is CUE’d
When the track is ready, “CUE” will appear on the display. - This indicates the audio is cued at the first transient and ready for playback.
- Set Channel Source and Controls
- Ensure “CD1” is selected as the source on your mixer channel.
- Adjust the gain knob, EQ, channel fader, and crossfader to the desired positions.

Start Playback
Press the Play button to begin audio playback from the USB drive.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If the USB drive is not recognized, double-check the file system format and capacity.
- Ensure the USB port is free of dust or debris.
- Try a different USB drive if issues persist.
