My speaker powers on but I cannot hear anything
If your speaker powers on but you get no sound, the problem is almost always a level setting or a loose connection somewhere in the audio chain. Work through these checks in order, starting at the source and moving toward the speaker.
Check the levels
- Verify all levels on the speaker (volume and EQ) are set where they should be.
- If you are not sure where a channel should be set, start with everything at 50%.
Check the connections
- Check every audio connection between your sources and your speakers. Depending on the setup, there may be several connection points. Start at the source and work your way to the final output, which is your speakers or headphones.
- Make sure each connection point is fully seated and secure. A cable that looks plugged in can still be loose.
Check the rest of the chain
- Verify the levels on every other piece of gear in the chain (media players, controllers, amplifiers, mixers, and so on).
- Confirm your mixers, amplifiers, and other input devices are actually receiving a signal. On most gear, an LED indicates incoming signal.
If you have gone through all of these and still get no sound, note where in the chain the signal drops out and reach out to Gemini Sound support with your model number and setup details.
