How to update firmware on the CDMP-7000 and CDJ-700

Updating the firmware on your Gemini Sound CDMP-7000 or CDJ-700 keeps the unit running its latest software. The process runs from a USB flash drive, and it only takes a few minutes.

What you need

  • A USB flash drive
  • The correct update file for your unit, attached to this article

Update the firmware

  1. Download the update file attached to this article.
  2. Once the file is downloaded, copy it to the root folder of your USB flash drive (not inside any subfolder).
  3. Insert the USB flash drive into your unit and press USB.
  4. The unit locates the file automatically and starts the update.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts carefully until the update finishes.

Note for CDMP-7000 users

The CDMP-7000 has two decks, and each deck needs to be updated individually. Repeat the steps above for the second deck.

CDM-4000BT: using the microphone inputs

The CDM-4000BT has two mic inputs but one shared volume knob, so both mics are always live at the same level. For independent control, use mics with built-in volume like the GMU series.
