How to replace the battery on the Gemini MPA-2400
The Gemini Sound MPA-2400 is a portable party speaker that runs on AC power or a rechargeable battery. The battery is a 6FM 4.5 12V 4.5Ah/20hr sealed lead-acid battery, and a full charge lasts up to 18 hours. When it stops holding a charge, here's how to swap it out.
What you'll need
- A Phillips screwdriver
- A replacement battery of the same type (6FM 4.5 12V 4.5Ah/20hr)
Replace the battery
- Turn off the power switch and unplug the AC cord from the unit.
- Find the back panel and use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the 9 screws that hold it in place.
- Carefully lift off the back panel and set it aside.
- Gently pull the red and black wires off the battery terminals.
- Remove the old battery from the compartment and dispose of it properly. Sealed lead-acid batteries should be recycled, not thrown in the trash.
- Set the new battery into the compartment and connect the red and black wires to the matching terminals.
- Put the back panel back on and secure it with the 9 screws.
- Plug in the AC cord and turn on the power switch to charge the new battery.
That's it. Your MPA-2400 is ready to run on battery power again.
