WPX-2000: Fixing Bluetooth connection issues

If your WPX-2000 won't connect over Bluetooth, or keeps dropping the connection, here's how to fix it.

What you might be seeing

  • The WPX-2000 doesn't show up in your device's list of available Bluetooth devices, even when they're close together.
  • The connection drops during use, even though the devices paired fine before.

Why this happens

  • The WPX-2000 and your other device are outside the optimal Bluetooth range, which makes the connection unstable.
  • Low battery on the WPX-2000 or the connected device weakens the wireless signal.
  • Bluetooth settings on one of the devices aren't configured to allow pairing.

How to fix it

1. Check device distance

  1. Move the WPX-2000 and your other device closer together.
  2. Clear away anything between them, like large objects or walls.

Tips:

  • Keep devices within 3 to 5 meters for a stable connection.
  • Keep devices away from large electronic appliances, which can interfere with the Bluetooth signal.

2. Check the battery

  1. Check the battery level on both the WPX-2000 and the other device.
  2. Charge either device if it's low. A weak battery can cause dropped connections.

Tip: Charge both devices to at least 50% before an important gig or session where you're relying on Bluetooth.

3. Re-pair the devices

  1. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the WPX-2000 for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode.
  2. Put your other device into pairing mode too. Check its manual if you're not sure how.
  3. On the WPX-2000, open Bluetooth settings and search for available devices.
  4. Select your device from the list and confirm the connection.

Tips:

  • If it's been a while since you last paired, restart both devices before you try again.
  • If the first attempt fails, clear the Bluetooth pairing on both devices and try again.

Preventing this going forward

  • Keep the firmware on the WPX-2000 and your other device up to date.
  • Keep some distance from other active Bluetooth devices and wireless routers to cut down on interference.
  • Check the pairing instructions in both devices' manuals if you're setting up a new combination.
