MXR-01 / MXR-01BT - EQ Band Frequency Ranges

The MXR-01 and MXR-01BT mixers feature a 3-band EQ (equalizer) section that allows users to shape the sound of their audio by adjusting specific frequency ranges. Each band targets a different part of the audio spectrum:

  • Low frequencies affect the bass and thump of your sound
  • Mid frequencies shape the body and presence of vocals and instruments
  • High frequencies control the brightness and clarity

Even if you're not familiar with audio engineering, using EQ is a simple way to improve your mix. Turning a knob up boosts that frequency range, while turning it down reduces it. Here's how each band is configured on these mixers:

Low Band

Frequency Center: 80 Hz
This band controls the deep bass tones.
Gain/Cut Range: +9 dB / -24 dB

Mid Band

Frequency Center: 1 kHz
This band affects the core of vocals, guitars, and many instruments.
Gain/Cut Range: +9 dB / -24 dB

High Band

Frequency Center: 12 kHz
This band adjusts the crispness and sparkle in your audio.
Gain/Cut Range: +9 dB / -24 dB
