TT-900: What is the 45 adapter and how do I use it?
The 45 adapter is a small insert that lets your TT-900 play 7-inch records with a large center hole. Those records were originally pressed for jukeboxes, so the hole is too big to sit on a standard turntable spindle on its own.
What the 45 adapter does
The adapter drops into the large center hole and reduces it down to the size of the spindle. That centers the record and holds it in place so it spins true.
How to use it
- Place the 45 adapter over the spindle on the platter.
- Set your 7-inch record down so the adapter fills the large center hole.
- Play the record as you normally would. Records with a standard small hole do not need the adapter.
