GTT-5000 quickstart guide
Thanks for picking up the Gemini Sound GTT-5000, a belt-drive USB turntable pack that ships with a matched pair of speakers. Follow the steps below to get your turntable set up and your records spinning.
Install the belt
- Find the turntable belt underneath the platter and gently lift it out.
- Set the platter onto the spindle so the belt lines up with the motor pulley.
- Stretch the belt over the motor pulley. Make sure it sits flat, with no twists and no slack.
Install the headshell
- Attach the needle and cartridge to the headshell using the supplied screws.
- Fit the headshell onto the tonearm and lock it firmly in place.
- Balance the tonearm by adjusting the counterweight and the anti-skating dial, following the settings in the manual.
Set up the connections
- Plug the active speaker into a power outlet and switch it on.
- Connect the passive speaker to the active speaker with the supplied speaker wire.
- Connect the turntable to the active speaker with the supplied RCA cables. Match the colors of the plugs to the jacks.
- To digitize your records, run the USB cable from the turntable to your computer. The turntable has a built-in soundcard that converts the analog signal to a digital file. You'll likely need recording software such as Audacity to capture the audio on your computer.
