Article: How to pair a GMU series wireless system

How to pair a GMU series wireless system

Your Gemini Sound GMU series wireless system should pair automatically out of the box. Turn the transmitter and receiver on, and the RF LED indicator on the receiver will light up to show a successful connection.

Re-pair the receiver and transmitter

If the RF LED indicator does not light up, the frequency assignment may have changed. To re-pair, follow these steps:

  1. Power off the transmitter and receiver.
  2. Power on the receivers you plan to transmit to. You can connect to multiple receivers at once.
  3. Hold the SET button on the transmitter while powering it on, and keep POWER and SET held down until the battery LED begins to flash.
  4. The RF LED indicator on the receiver will light up to show a successful connection.

Once paired, the connection happens automatically each time you power on the transmitter and receiver, as long as the frequency or group assignment hasn't changed.

Fix a group assignment on single channel systems

On the single channel systems, transmitters transmit to the "CH A" frequency group by default. If you're having trouble connecting to your receiver, the transmitter's assignment may have been changed to the "CH B" frequency group. Here's how to change it back to "CH A" on each model.

GMU-G100 and GMU-M100

  1. Make sure all receivers are off.
  2. With the transmitter powered off, hold down the power button for 9 seconds. The unit turns on and changes group assignments.
  3. Power on the receiver you intend to use. The connection should happen automatically.

If it doesn't connect, try the re-pairing steps above again.

GMU-HSL100

  1. Make sure all receivers are off.
  2. Turn on the transmitter power, then hold down the SET button for 9 seconds. The LED display changes from "CHA" to "CHB" to show a successful change of group assignments.
  3. Power on the receiver you intend to use. The connection should happen automatically.

If it doesn't connect, try the re-pairing steps above again.

GMU-M200

Transmitters transmit one to "CH A" and one to "CH B" by default. When you turn on the microphone or transmitter, the LED of the handheld displays which group is currently assigned. If both transmitters are assigned to the same group, change one of them to another group:

  1. Make sure all receivers are off.
  2. With the transmitter powered off, hold down the power button for 9 seconds. The unit turns on and changes group assignments.
