In 1974, Ike Cabasso — a Brooklyn speaker maker — heard his teenage sons mixing records in the basement. They told him DJing was going to be the next big thing. He listened, built the DJ-1 mixer, and signed GrandMaster Flash. Three generations later, Gemini Sound is still family-owned, still based in New Jersey, and still making audio gear for the people who bring others together.
